Take wasabi, a recipe with a history is a famous Japanese dish which is also called tako wasabi. Tako means a raw octopus and a highly flavored Japanese horseradish is called ma wasabi. The taste and the texture of this recipe have taken it to another level.

Behind the popularity of this dish, there is a history. During 1991, a food company used to serve a punishment dish, which is now popular as tako wasabi (ทา โกะ วา ซา บิ, which is the term in Thai). Soon later, the employees found the taste of this recipe to be good so they started to enrich the dish for commercialization.

The serving of this dish differs from country to country. For example, in a few of the places, to improve the taste of this dish, an ingredient called seaweed is added to it. Asian countries mostly use this Seaweed in soups and salads as it comprises a lot of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It is also considered that only a limited amount of seaweed is good. Talking about the main ingredient, an octopus is available in two forms in the supermarket. One is a raw octopus and the others are cooked or boiled octopus so it depends upon the People’s choice.  Whereas in a few supermarkets in Asia, the tako wasa’s frozen products are available as well.

How is it made?

Firstly, all the waste stuff of the raw octopus is cleaned with salt, and also remembers to clean the slime under running water if needed. Now, this cleaned raw octopus is cut into little pieces with the knife, each piece would probably be 2 cm. Once the cutting is done, add freshly prepared wasabi paste into a bowl. Add the chopped pieces of the octopus into this bowl. To increase the additional flavor, put sugar, soy sauce, marine, plum, and sick in it and make sure to mix them properly so that each ingredient gives its best flavor to the dish. The dish is ready to eat, however, having it with a glass of wine would be a good choice. You can eat it directly or few people wish to consume it after storing it in the fridge for a few hours.
