Compared to the two coasts, the Midwest often gets a bad reputation. Many Americans think of the Midwest as rural plains with nothing to do at all. Obviously, that isn’t the truth at all, as there are plenty of great cities filled with things to do in the Midwest. In fact, a Midwest road trip can be one of the most fun vacations you can take in the country. So if you’re planning a Midwest road trip, what are some of the spots that you absolutely have to visit? Chicago

Chicago is the biggest city in the Midwest region, and as a result, the city has a lot to offer. Attractions such as the Navy Pier and the Cloud Gate are beautiful sights, especially when it’s nice out. As one of the biggest cities in the country, Chicago is also a major market for events such as concerts and professional sports, giving you plenty to check out while you’re in town. Additionally, Chicago is known for its unique cuisine, creating all sorts of new spins on dishes. This means that while you’re in town you’ll have plenty of new foods to try!

Cleveland

Cleveland has a mixed reputation, but chances are you’ll love the city once you actually experience it. Cleveland has some fantastic museums such as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Cleveland Botanical Garden, and the Great Lakes Science Center. These museums tackle unique and interesting topics, making for some amazing educational tours. Much like Chicago, Cleveland is also located on the shores of a Great Lake, meaning there are plenty of amazing sights and water activities available to tourists. 

 

Cincinnati 

Cincinnati might not immediately jump out as a place to visit, but chances are you’ll love the city so much you’ll want to settle down in one of the Cincinnati houses for sale. The city is home to a variety of museums, giving educators and scholars plenty to do. Cincinnati is also unique in that it has a mural in each one of its neighborhoods. This has created the famous mural tour, allowing you to get out and explore the entire city. Not only are you seeing some amazing pieces of art, you’re also getting to see all parts of Cincinnati. Indianapolis 

Indianapolis is another Midwestern city that often gets overlooked. Right now is the perfect time to visit Indianapolis, as the city is in the midst of a food renaissance. It seems like new high-quality restaurants are opening up every month. There are also plenty of major events in Indianapolis to visit, such as the Indianapolis 500. Many parts of the city are becoming more tourist friendly, as the city looks to cement itself as a key Midwest destination. Once you check out Indianapolis, you’ll surely agree the work has paid off.
